Birthdays

Kam Tong 1906, actor, Kim Fong - Dimension 5 (1966), Sgt. Itsugi - The Time Tunnel (1 episode, "Kill Two by Two", 1967).
Alfred Bester 1913, science fiction author, TV and radio scriptwriter, magazine editor and scripter for comic strips and comic books. Bester's first published short story, "The Broken Axiom," was published in Thrilling Wonder Stories (April 1939). Bester continued to publish short fiction, most notably in John W. Campbell's Astounding Science Fiction. Bester left the field of short story writing and began working for DC Comics as a writer on Superman, Green Lantern and other titles. It is popularly believed that Bester wrote the version of the Green Lantern Oath that begins "In brightest day, In blackest night". Bester was also the writer for Lee Falk's comic strips The Phantom and Mandrake the Magician while their creator served in World War II. However, Bester gained his greatest renown for the work he wrote and published in the 1950s, including The Demolished Man and The Stars My Destination (also known as Tiger! Tiger!).

1964, Filming of TOS: "The Cage" finally wraps, after going five days over schedule and $164,248 over budget. The parkland scenes at Mojave are filmed today, among others.
1966, Dr Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas airs for first time on CBS.
1976, Wonder Woman TV show debuts on ABC.
1987, *batteries not included is released.
2002, Star Trek:Enterprise, "The Catwalk" airs.
