On this day in 1906 Robert E. Howard was born. For those that don't recognize his name, he was the creator of Conan. He is regarded as the father of the sword and sorcery subgenre. Although a Conan novel was nearly published into a book in 1934, his stories never appeared in book form during his lifetime. The main outlet for his stories was in the pulp magazine, Weird Tales. Robert was age 30 when he passed away at his own hands. A lot of people wonder what he might have accomplished if his life had continued.
