Birthdays

Maximo V. Lorenzo 1982, comic book artist, worked with Tokyopop, Image comics and DC.
Wendy Pini 1951, part of the husband-and-wife team responsible for creating the well-known Elfquest series of comics, graphic novels and prose works. Wendy contributed several covers and illustrations to Galaxy Science Fiction and Galileo magazines in the mid-1970s, before launching Elfquest in 1978. Richard Pini, who had been a professional astronomer, is credited as co-writer and editor on Elfquest, as well as handling all of the publishing and business aspects of Warp Graphics. Prior to the widespread publication of Elfquest, Wendy was also known for dressing up at fan conventions as Red Sonja. Wendy Pini also created two graphic novels based on the TV series Beauty and the Beast and has illustrated occasional stories for both Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Trivia :They are also known as WaRP (as in Warp Graphics).
Josef "Joe" Rubinstein 1958, comic book artist and inker, most associated with inking Marvel Comics' The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe.
Steven Weissman 1968, cartoonist, best known for his offbeat and bizarre explorations of childhood friendships (not to mention competitiveness and mutual enmity). He has been published by Alternative Comics and Fantagraphics, and has had his work translated into French and Japanese. Weissman made his name with the Harvey and Ignatz award-nominated 1997 series Yikes (volume II), published by Alternative Comics. It features the light-hearted adventures of a gang of kids, very much in the Little Rascals mold, who just happen to be "monsters" — vampires, zombies, and the like. Yikes ran for two issues, and has since been collected, with previous self-published Yikes comics, in Don't Call Me Stupid and Mean, both put out by Fantagraphics.

Derek McGrath 1951, actor, Prince Notfunnyenuf - Intergalactic Thanksgiving (1979) (TV) (voice), unknown role - The Romance of Betty Boop (1985) (TV) (voice), Secretary Culkin - Hologram Man (1995), Crewman Chell - Star Trek: Voyager (2 episodes, "Learning Curve", "Repression", 1995-2000), Pax - Earth: Final Conflict (1 episode, "Entombed", 2001).
