Well today is the end of the year which marked both good and bad events in sci-fi and comic strips. Good, because it was the beginning of the Sci-Fi channel and bad because it marked the end of the Calvin and Hobbes strip. I guess to put things into a better state of mind I can say that Lance Reddick, Steve Rude, Stanley Price, and Vernon Wells were born. All fine actors or comic book artists.

Steve Rude 1956, comic book artist, Rude became widely known in the comics world when he and writer Mike Baron created Nexus, an independent science fiction comic book with a large supporting cast. For the Nexus series, Rude designed a dozen or so distinctive alien races, including the Thunes, the Amphibs, the Quattros, the Giz, the Demons, and others. Rude more recently co-created and penciled The Moth (with writer/inker Gary Martin) in 2004, while continuing to teach art classes and do commissioned work.
