If you were a fan of Golden age comics then you'll still bristle over the events in 1954 on this day that changed comic books. In a matter of 3 days the woes of why the children of that era were acting out was blamed on comic books. I wonder what comics would be like today if no comic code had been put in place.

Dan O'Neill 1942, underground cartoonist, creator of the syndicated comic strip Odd Bodkins and founder of the underground comics collective the Air Pirates.
Michael Layne Turner 1971, comic book artist, primarily known for his work on Witchblade, Fathom, Superman/Batman, Soulfire, and various covers for DC Comics and Marvel Comics. He was also the president of the entertainment company Aspen MLT.

1954, In the Foley Square U.S. Courthouse in New York, a congressional subcommittee begins a three-day televised investigation of the causes of juvenile delinquency. The comic-book industry is vilified, leading to laws in several states restricting comic sales, and industry self-censorship.
1966, Batfink airs. It was created by Hal Seeger, to parody the popular Batman and The Green Hornet television series which had premiered the same year.
1990, Cartoon All Stars to the Rescue shown on all four TV networks.
1997, Babylon 5 Episode 76 - "Racing Mars" first aired
1997, Star Trek:DS9, "Ferengi Love Songs" airs.
1999, Star Trek:DS9, "Strange Bedfellows" airs.
