Power Man, Draaga, The Troubles with Girls, Chief O'Hara, Aquaman, Kono and Tono, Magnus Robot Fighter, Harley Quinn, Captain Marvel, The Invaders, Silver Surfer, Timemaster, Family Guy, Bootkins.

One of my favorite comic characters other than Magnus the Robot Fighter is Tono and Kono the Jungle Twins. It was always a great day when I could pick up a comic with them in it. I'm glad to say the Paul Leroy Norris, co-creator of the characters was born on this day.

Also want to point out that it's George Tuska's birthday.  His work on the 1940's Captain Marvel was always first class.

Tim Hamilton 1966, cartoonist and illustrator, Hamilton has drawn numerous comics, including The Trouble with Girls and Welcome Back, Mr. Moto. His most recent work is adapting and illustrating Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island for Puffin Graphics

Stafford Repp 1918, actor, best known for his role as Chief O'Hara on the Batman television series.

Paul Leroy Norris 1914, comic book artist best known as co-creator of the DC Comics superhero Aquaman, and for a 35-year run as artist of the newspaper comic strip Brick Bradford. In the 1950s, Norris drew issues of Dell Comics' Tom Corbett, Space Cadet and Jungle Jim, the latter of which he had previously drawn as a newspaper comic strip. The following decade, he drew stories of jungle adventurer Tarzan and science-fiction hero Magnus, Robot Fighter in comic books for Gold Key Comics. Craig Rousseau 1971, best known for his work on DC Comics titles like Harley Quinn, Batman Beyond and Impulse. Alex Toth 1928, cartoonist, comic book artist, Toth’s work began in the American comic book industry, but is best known for his animation designs for Hanna-Barbera throughout the 1960s and 1970s. His work included Super Friends, Space Ghost, The Herculoids, and Birdman. Toth launched his career at the age of 15, illustrating true stories for Heroic magazine through Steve Douglas’ Famous Funnies shop. Although he initially aimed to do newspaper strips (“It was my dream to do what Caniff, Raymond, and Foster had done”), he found the industry “dying” and instead moved into comic books. In 1947, Toth was hired by Sheldon Mayer at National/DC Comics. He worked there for five years, drawing the Golden Age versions of The Flash, Dr. Mid-Nite, Green Lantern and The Atom. For a brief time in 1950, Toth was able to realize his dream of working on newspaper comic strips by ghost illustrating Casey Ruggles with Warren Tufts. In 1952 Toth ended his contract with DC Comics and moved to California. It is during that time that he worked on crime, war and romance comics for Standard Comics. In 1954, Toth was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed in Tokyo, Japan. While in Japan, he wrote and drew his own weekly adventure strip, Jon Fury, for the base paper, Depot Diary. Returning to the United States in 1956, Toth settled in the Los Angeles area and worked primarily for Dell Comics until 1960. In 1960, Toth became art director for the Space Angel animated science fiction show. This led to his being noticed (and hired) by Hanna-Barbera, where he worked as a storyboard and design artist until 1968 and then again in 1973 when he was assigned to Australia for five months to produce the TV series Super Friends. He continued to work in comic books, illustrating contributions for the Warren magazines Eerie, Creepy and The Rook.

Bettie Page 1923, pin-up queen / actress, model who became famous in the 1950s for her fetish modeling and pin-up photos. She has often been called the "Queen of pinups". Her look, including her jet black hair and trademark bangs, has influenced many artists. She was also one of the earliest Playmates of the Month (January 1955) for Playboy magazine. In the early 1980s, comic book artist Dave Stevens based the female love interest of his hero Cliff Secord (alias "The Rocketeer") on Page. In 1987, Greg Theakston started a fanzine called The Betty Pages[15] and recounted tales of her life, particularly the camera club days. For the next seven years, the magazine sparked a worldwide interest in Page. Women dyed their hair and cut it into bangs in an attempt to emulate the "Dark Angel". The media caught wind of the phenomenon and wrote numerous articles about her, more often than not with Theakston's help. After Jim Silke made a large format comic featuring her likeness, Dark Horse Comics published a comic based on her fictional adventures in the 1990s.
