Kevin Eastman 1962, comic book artist, best known as the creator (together with Peter Laird) of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Eastman is also the current owner, editor and publisher of the magazine Heavy Metal.

Mort Meskin 1916, comic book artist, Meskin went to work for Eisner & Iger where he did pencils for Fiction House's "Sheena, Queen of the Jungle" in Jumbo Comics. In 1941, Meskin started at National Comics, drawing stories for the characters Vigilante, Wildcat, Starman and Johnny Quick. During his time at National, Meskin also did work for Marvel Comics, Gleason and Nedor Comics, Spark, and other publishers. At Nedor he worked on the Black Terror as well as on the Fighting Yank together with Jerry Robinson. In 1949 he left National and joined the Simon & Kirby studio where he worked on a variety of titles such as Boys' Ranch and Prize Comics. He returned to National in 1956, where he created the feature "Mark Merlin" and also worked on a large number of war, science fiction and romance titles.

Nick Bertozzi 1970, is an American comic book writer and artist, as well as a commercial illustrator and teacher of cartooning. He created the series Rubber Necker from Alternative Comics.

Tom Mandrake 1956, comic book artist, perhaps best known for his collaborations with writer John Ostrander on multiple comic books, including Grimjack (from First Comics) and The Spectre, Martian Manhunter, and Firestorm, from DC Comics.

Herbert W. "Herb" Trimpe 1939, comic book artist, best known for his work on The Incredible Hulk and as the first artist to draw for publication the character Wolverine, who later became a breakout star of The X-Men. Trimpe started his career at Dell Comics, doing mostly Westerns and also licensed books, like the adaptation of the movie Journey to the Center of the Earth. joined Marvel's production staff in 1967 and remained associated with the company as a contract artist through 1996. While operating the Photostat camera in the Marvel offices, Trimpe did freelance inking for Marvel, and made his professional penciling debut with two Kid Colt Western stories, in Kid Colt, Outlaw #134–135 (May & July 1967). Shortly thereafter, Trimpe and writer Gary Friedrich created Marvel's World War I aviator hero the Phantom Eagle in Marvel Super-Heroes #16 (Sept. 1968). As a Marvel mainstay, Trimpe would draw nearly every starring character. When Marvel went bankrupt in the mid-1990s, Trimpe returned to college to finish his bachelor's degree, and then attended a master's degree program at SUNY New Paltz.[8] Afterward, he taught art at Eldred Central School, a rural middle/high school, for two years. He penciled BPRD: The War on Frogs (Aug. 2008) for Dark Horse Comics, and returned to his signature character by drawing the eight-page story "The Death and Life of the Abomination" in Marvel's King-Size Hulk #1 (July 2008).

Marc Hempel 1957, cartoonist/comics artist best known for his work on The Sandman with Neil Gaiman. Hempel's art has also appeared in Marvel Fanfare, Epic Illustrated, Heavy Metal, Jonny Quest, Tarzan the Warrior, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, Flinch, My Faith in Frankie, The Dreaming, Lucifer, and Disney Adventures.

Stan Sakai 1953, comic book artist, He began his career by lettering comic books (notably Groo the Wanderer by Sergio Aragonés and Mark Evanier) and wrote and illustrated The Adventures of Nilson Groundthumper and Hermy; a comic series with a medieval setting, influenced by Sergio Aragones's Groo the Wanderer. The characters first appeared in Albedo #1 in 1984, and were subsequently featured in issues of Critters, GrimJack, Amazing Heroes and Furrlough. Sakai became famous with the creation of Usagi Yojimbo, the epic saga of Miyamoto Usagi, a samurai rabbit living in late-sixteenth and early-seventeenth-century Japan. First published in 1984, the comic continues to this day, with Sakai as the lone author and nearly-sole artist.

Frank Oz 1944, actor, voice actor, Oz is known for his work as a puppeteer, performing with Jim Henson's Muppets. His characters have included Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, and Sam the Eagle on The Muppet Show, and Grover, Cookie Monster and Bert on Sesame Street, among many others. In addition to performing a variety of characters, Oz has been one of the primary collaborators responsible for the development of the Muppets over the last 30 years. Oz has performed as a Muppeteer in over 75 movies, video releases, and television specials, as well as countless other public appearances, episodes of Sesame Street, and other Jim Henson series. His puppetry work spans from 1963 to the present, though he has retired from the Muppets. His Muppets were taken over by Eric Jacobson, though Oz still performs his characters on occasion. He also worked with the puppets on the movie Labyrinth, starring David Bowie. Oz is also well known as the performer of Jedi Master Yoda from George Lucas' Star Wars series. Sid Couchey 1919, cartoonist best-known for his illustration work on the Harvey Comics characters Richie Rich, Little Lotta and Little Dot. His style is known for big, friendly faces and a sharp sense of visual humor. In the mid-1950s, Sid answered an advertisement in the New York Times--and thus briefly became an assistant for Joe Shuster, the co-creator of Superman. After several planning sessions in Sid's 9th Avenue apartment, Shuster came up with "another alien baby" named Golly Galloo. Although "Galloo never flew",

Carmine Infantino 1925, comic book artist and editor, Infanto inked the feature "Jack Frost" in USA Comics #3 (Jan. 1942). Infantino would eventually work for several publishers during the decade, drawing Airboy and the Heap for Hillman Periodicals; working for packager Jack Binder, who supplied Fawcett Comics; briefly at Holyoke; then landing at DC Comics, where he became a regular artist of the Golden Age Flash, Black Canary, Green Lantern and Justice Society of America. In 1956, DC editor Julius Schwartz assigned writer Robert Kanigher and artist Infantino to the company's first attempt at reviving superheroes: an updated version of the Flash that would appear in issue #4 (Oct. 1956) of the try-out series Showcase. Brad Anderson 1924, cartoonist, He is best known for creating the comic strip Marmaduke in 1955, which he continues to draw to this day. Anderson, who says he draws on Laurel and Hardy routines for his ideas, received the National Cartoonists Society Newspaper Panel Cartoon Award for Marmaduke in 1978. One of his favorite inclusions in his comics was the old Cave's Meat Market in Brocton. There were several cartoons dedicated to Cave's and to Marmaduke running away from the store with items he had retrieved. He was also involved in the comic strip Grandpa's Boy, which ran from 1955 through 1980.

Irwin Caplan 1919, cartoonist, best known as the creator of The Saturday Evening Post cartoon series, Famous Last Words. In the late 1940s through the early 1960s, Caplan's distinctive, crisp cartoon style appeared in Collier's, Life, Esquire and other leading publications.

Blish was responsible for coining the term "gas giant" in the story "Solar Plexus" as it appeared in the anthology Beyond Human Ken when describing Jupiter.
