Daily Birthdays and Events in Sci-Fi, Comics and related areas

March 23, 2010

Genesis II, Dylan Hunt, The Thing From Another World, Conan, Doctor Who, Quark, Hercules, Eagle Eye, Wonder Woman, Caprica, Green Hornet, Bambi.

Today there are a lot of different actors with so many different talents. I recommend taking the time and looking through them all.

One event I recommend for you to Google is Genesis II. Genesis II was the first of three attempts by Roddenberry to create a new sci-fi series following the success of Star Trek. Although Roddenberry had scripts lined up for a 20-episode first season, CBS declined to pick it up, opting instead for the short-lived Planet of the Apes live-action series. For all of you that have seen the 2000 Andromeda series that was produced by Majel Roddenberry the you'll recognize the main character Dylan Hunt. Some of the ideas were used from Genesis II such as the melodramatic opening line, "My name is Dylan Hunt. My story begins on the day on which I died." I suggest if you can find the movie then sit and enjoy.
