In 1977, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, was released. As a younger person the movie freaked me out and made me look towards the sky in the evenings. Being from a small hamlet with a backyard that looked out into the dark horizon made the sky watching even more eerie.

1966, As cameras roll on TOS: "The Alternative Factor", actor John Drew Barrymore, who had been contracted to appear as Lazarus, fails to show up for work, forcing a production shutdown. The role is quickly re-cast, with the part going to actor Robert Brown. Star Trek production staff will eventually file a formal complaint against Barrymore with the Screen Actor's Guild.
